Product Information
Inner Rustlings is a thought-provoking collection of 38 poems by Iqbal Ismail Sait, written under the pseudonym Ghalib Sultan. Rooted in observation, reflection and a deep curiosity about life, nature and humanity, this collection invites readers to pause, question and look beyond the obvious.
Born into a fourth-generation Cutchi Memon family in Kochi, Kerala, the author grew up surrounded by material prosperity, yet his imagination continually wandered toward deeper questions about existence, nature, society and the meaning of human life. His poems emerge from these inner journeys and from impressions gathered through a constantly changing socio-ecological world.
From “De-Evolution” and “Death of an ‘Alien Kind’” to “I See My God”, “The Only Hope”, “Endangered Species”, “Equality”, “Existence” and “Holocaust – Personified,” the collection explores a wide spectrum of human experiences and contemporary concerns.
The poems move between nature and civilization, hope and despair, memory and mortality, beauty and destruction, equality and inequality, spirituality and human questioning. Some poems look inward at the self, while others turn their attention toward society, the environment and the changing world.
Inner Rustlings is not simply a collection to be read from beginning to end. It is an invitation to reflect. Each poem carries its own question, image or emotional impulse, allowing readers to discover different meanings according to their own experiences.

About Author
Iqbal Ismail Sait, writing under the pseudonym Ghalib Sultan, is a poet whose literary expression is deeply influenced by his observations of nature, society, humanity and the changing world.
Born in the fourth generation of a Cutchi Memon family in Kochi, Kerala, the author's life experience combines a rich cultural background with a persistent curiosity about the world around him. Although he was born into material prosperity, his thoughts frequently moved beyond material concerns toward questions about existence, human behaviour, nature, spirituality and the meaning of life.
His poetry reflects this inward and outward journey. Rather than limiting himself to a single poetic theme, Ghalib Sultan explores a wide range of subjects, including human relationships, environmental change, mortality, memory, equality, hope, spirituality, social transformation and the challenges facing humanity.
Through 38 poems in Inner Rustlings, he presents his impressions of an ever-changing socio-ecological world while attempting to reveal the deeper emotions and ideas that inspired each poem.
His writing encourages readers not merely to consume words but to observe, question, feel and interpret. The pseudonym Ghalib Sultan represents the literary voice through which these reflections take poetic form.
Inner Rustlings introduces readers to a poet interested in the relationship between the individual, society, nature and existence.
