Santali Sindhu Sabhyata Ki Bhasha offers a groundbreaking perspective on the creators of the Indus Valley Civilization. While historians and intellectuals have long debated whether the Aryans or Dravidians were the real founders of this ancient civilization, Prabhunath Hembram challenges both views. Based on his meticulous research and unique interpretation of the Indus script, the author asserts that the Santali community is the rightful creator of the Sindhu (Indus) Valley Civilization.
Hembram builds his argument using DNA evidence from the ancient site of Rakhigarhi, where scientists have uncovered Y-DNA and mt-DNA (M4a), linked to the Austro-Asiatic language group, which includes languages like Mundari, Santali, and Khasi. This genetic connection strengthens the claim that the Santali people had a significant presence in the Indus Valley. Prominent linguists, such as Michael Witzel, have also advocated for the Mundari language family being connected to the Indus script. These revelations compel historians to reconsider the pre-Vedic history of India, as mentioned in The Hindu (December 23, 2017, Tony Joseph’s article).
